Perth, Australia

September 7, 2009

I met Tom and Heather at Koh Phangang, Thailand during the Full Moon Party. Fantastic people and fun to hang out with. They told me to let them know when I got to Perth (They live there) and so I did. Tom even picked me up from the airport and let me stay at his place for the whole week! I didn’t expect to be this welcomed. Truly grateful and lucky to have met such wonderful people. And Tom’s house mates were very welcoming as well.

So a bit about Perth. I fit in. I’m no longer the minority as I was in Asia (at least until I talk then they know I’m not Australian lol). I’ll need to get use to this. Perth is a chilled out city for the most part. Tom lived in the perfect spot that made the city within walking distance. The city is smaller then what I’m use to (I may have walked the entire city? lol) but plenty of things to do nonetheless. For the first few days, I did a lot of roaming around. Tom drove me over to Fremantle which is much like a city of it’s own within Perth. Ate probably the best pizza I’ve had since I left home. Later that week it was Heather’s birthday and we went out to a very posh restaurant to celebrate. Hannah was there as well (met her in Thailand also).

Happy Birthday Heather! J

Then the weekend began and it was time to kill a few brain cells. Tom had a whole DJ setup going on in his bedroom and if you know me, then you’d know I most defiantly played with them for hours. I played on Nightlife Vibe Radio for hours on end. It’s been awhile since my last real gig in China and this just made me way too excited to touch the decks again. Friday night began pre-gaming by going to a drive up liquor store (why don’t we have that USA?). Tom and his house mates had a few friends over. We played some music and partied away. Then it was off to Metro City club for Drum&Bass with Spur. Venue isn’t exactly the prettiest venue I’ve been to but it has potential. Spur played pretty well I thought. Back to the house we continued on drinking till the morning hours. Now that’s a proper party! But it doesn’t end there. I tried to recover as much as I could but it was time for another night out. Pre-gaming at Heather’s place then this time to another club (can’t remember the name). Many DJ’s were on that night and the music was incredible with Tech-House, Tech, and Progressive House. The next day became just a blur with most of it sleeping and doing absolutely nothing. Thanks Tom for getting me the tickets to both events!

How does it happen that I meet such awesome people? I can’t believe how welcoming everyone was. I didn’t feel like a stranger and they made me feel like I was at home. I wish I could have done more to show how thankful I was.

Thanks Again!

P.S All you guys better let me know when you come to NYC!!
